Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

High Cholesterol at Pizza Hut

Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. If you're concerned with your high cholesterol, then it is wise to take your friends to Pizza Hut and share pizza among them slice by slice. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

I love Pizza Connection! I live in Ferndale and despite being spoiled for choice with restaurants we don't really have a pizza place that I like in town. Thankfully Pizza Connection is close by. Their staff are always super friendly and polite, they have really good pizza and their store is always spotless. The only downside is that they are closed on Sunday's, but when you're making a pizza like they do, and you do it with a smile on your face, you deserve a day off.

The pizza was great. I got the deep dish. It was similar to a combination of jets and buddies. The only slight critique is the crust could have been a little crustier... It was a bit on the doughy side but still great. Highly recommend. Also - huge sides of sauce for only a buck.

Such a huge fan of this place! Next to Green Lantern (which is still our go to for square pizza), I choose Pizza connection! They are very generous with their toppings and the crust is nice and crispy, chewy and doughy all at the same time. We always get the large square extra crispy half & half. DF gets the pepperoni and black olives and red onions. I like the vegetarian as there's 7 diff types of veggies! I mean, cauliflower & broccoli? That's unheard of at other places!!! Don't forget the Wild Cheesy bread. While I still think Green Lantern will always win in Cheesy bread, this is pretty good. Ask for extra garlic butter too! I love that the staff is so nice and you can see them making it in front of you. Even if it's not 5/5, just coming for their service and quality is worth it!

I really wish I was eating pizza right now instead of actively losing weight because this is the perfect summer night, last minute cheese pizza from heaven. It just tastes real. And hot. And perfect. It's the best local pizza I've found next to Hippie's in Clawson.

Really good pizza! Our fave! They sent us a welcome to the neighborhood coupon for a free pizza and we loved the pizza and the staff. Yummy Hawaiian pizza with flavored crust!! Their wings with honey bbq sauce is good too! Especially dunked in ranch. And their bread is yum too! Really wish they were open Sundays and before 3p weekdays. I think they'd get a lot more business!

Pizza Connection is my standard place for take out pizza. The food, service, and price are all very good. Their delivery is prompt, their cheese is real, and their ingredients are fresh. The Hawaiian pizza is my absolute favorite, but I've never had a bad pie from them. My only (tiny) gripe: upgrade and get the cheesy "wild" breaksticks, instead of the regular ones. The regular ones are bland.

I can't even... from the rabbit food salad to the bland crust. I just ate it because I was high

Holy wow. YUM! Best pizza 'round these here parts.

  • Cari M.

New favorite!!!!! Fresh, real ingredients... The square pizza with broccoli, cauliflower, and green pepper was a fun way to eat veggies! It is about 3 minutes from my home too, which doesn't really affect you, but I sure am happy about it. This pizza was filling without making me feel guilty after 2 pieces. Support local pizza- especially here!!!!!

Pizza Connection has the best value square pizza in the state!! This is a perfect pie. Friendly staff, excellent consistency, and happy taste buds are what I am left with after a trip to this establishment.

  • Sage M.

This place is awesome!! Everytime I order they tell me 45 minutes, which I think is what every pizza place tells everyone. It always comes in under 30. And the food! Their "half" grinder is about as big as a sub from Subway or Jimmy Johns. They are thorough and amazing. This is my favorite place that I order delivery from. Seriously, cannot reccomend this place more!

Pizza Connection is our go-to pizza place. After trying a bunch of other places and not having luck or consistency (Jet's, I'm talking about you), we decided to try PC, which is a favorite of my wife's family. I was really excited when I found out that you can get the spicy Italian sausage from the "Flamethrower" pizza as a regular topping, because the regular stuff can be boring. On top of that, they slice it rather than crumble (I'm not sure how I feel about that), which is different. PC always has consistently good pies with crisp crusts and has the right amount of sauce for my better half. There are a few dozen pizza places that are closer and we drive here to get our pies, that's a real compliment. Viva la Pizza Connection!

Is this place still open? I have heard great reviews but every time I call no one answers.

  • Matt M.

Absolutely my favorite pizza place! Not only is the staff friendlier and more personable than any place I've been the pizza is phenomenal and very reasonably priced! Keep up the great work!

A good co-worker friend of mine let me enjoy this tasty joint. He recently moved to HP, maybe 50 yards from this place. We walked over the other night after calling ahead, and they had a nice special on two larges, 2 toppings each for $16. There toppings were fresh, and bountiful. No skimping here at all. One was mushroom and black olive. Great shrooms, and the black olives had some meat on them (not real meat, just a phrase). The thing was just utterly covered in the selected toppings. A thick cheese held it all together. Simple crust nothing fancy here. The other was pepperoni and sausage. mmmm. The sausage was of even consistency, and spread out to cover the pie. Did I say yumzor? Did now. I look forward to the summer evening when my friend invites me over for a beer on his porch, and a walk down to the pizza connection. PS. Look for the Dairy Park a few doors down for dessert ;).

We've tried allllll of the pizza places in the Ferndale/Hazel Park area and Pizza Connection is one of the best! Their pizza turnovers are AMAZING and if you haven't tried one, I highly suggest it.

  • Regina S.

OMG I can't believe this hasn't been reviewed yet!! This is an HP-lifer review! I've been eating pizza here ever since I can remember!! Pizza is great, pizza turnovers are great, ribs are great, potatoes are meh. They also have subs, salads, cheese sticks, wings, grinders, and Chicago deep dish that is fucking DEEP DISH... it's great, and really really heavy!! Prices are standard pizza joint prices. This place has been around for a long time and there is a reason for that!! If it means anything to you guys, I have their number programmed in my cell phone. /Awesome!!

No qualms about his place...their square is fantastic! Almost as good as Jet's or Papa's and better than Dan Good's. The round is only so so but still really good even reheated. I only wish they used fresh mushrooms but quality pies nonetheless.

  • Brian D.

I feel as though reviewing their pizza should be left to someone who has had more than just their large square, cheese and pepperoni, seeing is that's all I've had from them. The thing is though, that their large square, cheese and pepperoni is so f***ing good that I can't help but order it;and many, many times have I ordered it. (And it's tasted the same each time) The crust is amazing- perfectly crispy. The cheese, well that's your good old mozzarella; can't go wrong with it, really. The sauce is actually really good too, and I am really picky about that. The right amount of sweet. It's $7.61 too so compare that to the Little Caesar large square and well it's really not a comparison. Bottom line, it's cheap, it's fast, it's made by people that actually give a shit about their job and above all, you can tell is was made by someone that gives a shit about their job when you taste it. It's the only pizza place I see fit to have in my phone, for whatever that's worth. Cheers.

Pizza Connection never disappoints! They are friendly & prompt with orders, and their pizza is so much better than area chains. So long, Hungry Howie's!

  • James D.

cheap, delicious and reliable in an area dominated by greasy chain pizza joints. square or round are dope. grab a pie and feel free to peep my review for the green store next door. these two go hand in hand

  • P. T.

I will start with YUMMY...I made my call with a coupon and the girl who took my order was very nice. She said it would be delivered in 45 minutes. It was here in 30, delivered by a nice man who tolerated my rowdy, unwelcoming dog. Anyhoo, to the pizza. Nice and hot and gooey, nuff said right? Pretty much, the pizza dough is nice, cooked all the way through and had good flavor. The cheese and toppings are pretty average, the sauce had a nice rich and developed flavor (not salty either), however, I can do without canned mushrooms-killer every time. Nonetheless, they deserved the rating and I will put them comparably to Two Guys from Italy.

I received a "welcome to the neighborhood" coupon for a free medium one topping pizza.... so I thought I would give it a try. Small place, carry out only, very clean and inviting. The young lady at the counter was very friendly and patient while I was checking out the menu and taking my time. They have a nice pizza selection and ended up getting two additional pizzas even though it was dinner for just my daughter and myself (love cold pizza) ! We had a medium pepperoni, the Southern BBQ Chicken pizza and a Veggie pizza. The vege pizza has 7 vegetables, including broccoli and cauliflower !! Had Cajun spice added to the crust on 2 of them and it was a nice spicy kick. Sometimes when you redeem a coupon you get a really chintzy product but I must say they loaded it up. Tons of toppings and cheese and just the right amount of pizza/bbq sauce. They were round "hand tossed" type crust that was cooked perfect all the way through! Sometimes I throw out my crust but it was so good I ate every single bit! They deliver as well and have a huge menu that I plan on experiencing! Salads, grinders, pasta, ribs, wings, subs, apps, bread sticks, desserts and more! Their website says they have been in Hazel Park since 1969, family owned, make fresh dough daily and sauces are homemade too!

Pizza Connection is fairly standard pizza fare. The pizza doesn't wow me, but it always leaves me satisfied. I have sampled many a pizza from PC as it is the pie of choice whenever I have a get-together with friends. They have some pretty great deals, making it easy to feed a hungry (sometimes tipsy) crowd without breaking the bank. Pizza aside, there are vitally important things to discuss.. Literally, the best calzones around. I used to despise calzones until HH. I never loved a calzone until my first Pizza Connection calzone. They're huge, large enough that my boyfriend and I generally split one and we each struggle to finish our respective halves. They're DELICIOUS. Once you have a PC calzone, regular pizza (regardless of where it's from) will seem limp, tasteless, and boring. They also have excellent jalapeño poppers. Antipasto salad is fairly standard, but good none-the-less. Can't say I love the bread sticks and I have yet to try any of their pasta dishes. Wings aren't bad either.

Ordered a deep dish meat lovers pizza tonight..........awesome. Cooked perfect. Not sure who was making the pies Sunday night 11/11/12 but he/she needs to be making em all the time. I stopped ordering here for awhile due to crappy pizza orders, but they won me back tonight. Cool delivery driver too. Stay cool Pizza Connection.

Love the square pizzas and roman turnovers. There is nothing the compares to how good this pizza is. The extra larger New Yorker is very good also.
